Elas vão de moto - Aqui e Lá

Harley-Davidson girl

E olhem aí girls, mais uma publicação sobre o aumento do número de motociclistas mulheres lá nos US. Texto na integra da revista super cool AllAbout Bikes. "A woman on a motorcycle used to be a rare and exotic site. But women riders are becoming more and more common. According to the Motorcycle Industry Council, the female motorcycle population has grown by more than 50% over the last several years.

The MIC reports that between 2003 and 2008, the number of women who own their own motorcycle has grown 52%. In South Carolina, the total number of licensed motorcyclists comes in at around 190,000. More than 10% of those riders are women. According to the Post and Courier, there are currently close to 20,000 women riders in South Carolina.

In 2007, that number was just 15,781. Here are some stats from the Motorcycle Industry Council: 1 in 9 motorcycles are owned by women; In 2009, there were 11 million motorcycles in the US. Women owned 1,155,000 of them; 40% of female bikers are married. 35% have a college degree. 25% work in business or health care. Over the last few years, motorcycle manufactures like Harley-Davidson have been catering more to the female crowd. More motorcycles are being created with a woman in mind. Lower seat heights, less weight, and easy maneuverability, make bikes like Harley's Switchback a popular choice for women riders."
